Can the Reds keep the pace high?
Start of the season 2019 / 2020 is very exciting. Liverpool and Manchester City are showing once again that they are the most serious title contenders. Arsenal was looking just fine until they faced Jurgen Klopp’s squad in front of them. Although it is cruel to say such thing after derby match, we have to, Liverpool destroyed Arsenal very easy and proven that this season is likely to be theirs. Liverpool routinely scored 3 goals within 60 minutes and simply routine the game until the end. Arsenal managed to score 1 but it was all we saw from them. Another team we expected to see more from is Manchester United. For the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson left the bench, there was something in the air. Fans were believing that they are ready for something big. But defeat from Crystal Palace on the Old Trafford was a slap in their faces. The fact is, they haven’t moved a bit since last season. They outclassed Chelsea with 4 goals to 0, they played 1 each with the Wolves, and finally lost to Crystal Palace. You can’t win the title if you threw the points you have to win against weaker opponents. Another similar case is Tottenham, whose game is unpredictable just like a slot machine is. After 2-2 against Citizens, their fans were excited and ready to fight for the title until the end after great result. But, they forgot something. If you want to fight for the title you have to win against teams like Newcastle is in front of your crowd. They didn’t manage to do that and lost to them with 1-0. Now after 2 rounds they are already 5 points behind Liverpool and it is more realistic for them to fight for the Champions League if we can judge from the first few matches.
What can we expect from round 4?
Round 4 can give us an answer to many questions. The most important answer we could get is all about Watford. The Watford squad has scored just one goal in first 3 matches and has no points so far. If they lose to Newcastle they are going to find themselves in the deep trouble even before the season began. Can the Leicester get back to fight for Europe? They harvested our sympathies 3 seasons ago when they managed to win the title lead by James Vardy and Ryad Mahrez. Mahrez left the Leicester due to great offer from Manchester City but Vardy is still terrorizing goalkeepers in Foxes jersey. They are undefeated in 3 round and have 5 points near their name. They are hosting Bournemouth and 3 points are not so far from them. Crystal Palace will try to use the great atmosphere after winning against Red Devils and will try to defeat Aston Villa at home court as well.
Betting tips for round 4
Leicester – Bournemouth is the first match we are going to analyze. What a story would that be if FC Leicester could fight for the Champions League once again? Their squad is a mix of young and experienced players lead by Brendan Rodgers. We have learned so far that at the King Power Stadium everyone has a tough task to play against the Foxes. Unlike season when they won the title, they are playing fast and attractive football. Goals will come for sure. Just like Bournemouth squad who love to play football everywhere rather than playing defensive block against half of the league. The conclusion is simple. A high number of goals is expected in this match.
Leicester – Bournemouth both teams to score @4/5 (1.80) [Bet365]
Leicester – Bournemouth over 2.5 @10/11 (1.90) [Bet365]
Burnley – Liverpool is the next match for us to analyze. Liverpool has proven so far that it is the most serious candidate for the title and they are obliged to win matches like this. Klopp's squad must keep outscoring weaker opponents so they have a margin for errors in later rounds when Champions League start. Burnley plays middle paced football, which perfectly fits Liverpool. Salah, Origi, and Firmino love to play against high placed teams on the court because more space is opened for them to run into. Everything but the high victory of Liverpool would be surprised here.
Burnley – Liverpool 2 @1/3 (1.33) [Bet365]
Burnley Liverpool Liverpool to win more than 1.5 goals difference @10/11 (1.90) [Bet365]
Newcastle – Watford is the final match of our analysis. As mentioned earlier, FC Watford is already on the trouble with 0/9 possible points. Although it is an early stage of the season it is not a nice place to be stuck at the bottom of the table. Newcastle managed to win in the previous round against Tottenham and they would love to knock the Watford to the bottom. Even the biggest team were failing at Saint James Park, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we see Newcastle defend their castle once again. Newcastle is in trouble with the injuries and is going to play without 6 players this weekend. We expect to see a low scoring game and maybe only one goal will decide. We think Newcastle will score it.
Newcastle – Watford under 2.5 @4/5 (1.80) [Bet365]
Newcastle – Watford 1 @3/2 (2.50) [Bet365]
